Inspired by Ruben Pater’s CAPSLOCK: How Capitalism Took Hold of Graphic Design and How to Escape from It, this multimedia project examines the realities of contemporary designers under capitalism. At its core is a motion graphic video that reimagines Pater’s Zoom lecture—translating his words into striking visuals through Apple emoji collages set against stark black-and-white backgrounds. Surrounding this digital piece is a series of physical works: silkscreen-printed T-shirts, tote bags, manifesto prints, and stickers. Together, they form a hybrid space where humor, critique, and design intersect, inviting viewers to question the structures that shape creative labor. L.O.L is both a playful protest and a visual manifesto, turning the tools of design into instruments of resistance.
